Some praise, a fun fish story and a little R&R

It’s time for me to clear out of here for a summer vacation. I plan to spend most of it away from the computer, so you may not see any posts in this space for a couple of weeks. Before I go, though, a couple of notes:

  • If you haven’t read the Wall Street Journal’s Anheuser-Busch fish story yet, do so immediately. It says a lot about the attitude of August Busch III and why the company was unable to do more international deals.
  • I’ve read a lot of good storiesĀ on the A-B deal, so it’s nice to see some praise tossed in our direction. Kenneth Klee of TheDeal.com calls the Post-Dispatch’s coverage “smart, thorough, fair-minded and exhaustive.” Thanks for noticing, Kenneth!

If Busch were as proud of St. Louis as A-B’s advertising hype would have people believe, he would be doing his deals while fishing for catfish off of a luxury flatboat on the Mississippi River.
