No reprieve for Belleville GM dealer

When General Motors granted stays of execution last week to 60 dealers, I wondered if it was good news for Wagner Buick Pontiac GMC in Belleville. When I talked to owner Rusty Wagner for a column about his plight, Wagner told me that his appeal was based partly on faulty financial calculations made by GM. Last week’s story said the 60 reinstatements were made because “GM used inaccurate financial information in placing them on the list for closing.”

Alas, however, Wagner isn’t one of the 60. Rusty Wagner left me a voice mail saying:

While we fit that criteria that they were talking about where we had an incorrect scoring, we did not receive a reprieve as of now.  …. We are still on the chopping block.

Meh. If GM treats Wagner like that, Wagner needs to abandon GM. Toyota is a good firm to do business with, as is Hyundai and Ford. Quite honestly, I’d be ashamed to represent GM at this point in the game.

(G)overnment(M)otors is h-i-s-t-o-r-y! I don’t know what this cost Wagner, but not being associated with this Obama debacle will be a blessing in the long run. Show me an investor who will invest or lend to this now zombie, inc. and I will show you a fool. Brand loyalists will soon understand that this is not the institution upon which to invest their loyalty or emotions. Their’s has gone……….forever, Obama just siezed the cadaver to promote his socialist agenda and payback his union friends…at taxpayer expense
