Eagle takes wing in new A-B InBev logo

When it announced its plan to buy Anheuser-Busch, InBev pledged to keep the Clydesdales and other important A-B symbols. Today’s news release on the completion of the merger makes clear that the Anheuser-Busch eagle is here to stay, too. In fact, it’s been incorporated into the new parent-company insignia. As logos go, the new one is not bad, but this eagle appears to be flying away, which makes one wonder where it’s going. I have a feeling St. Louisans will remain nostalgic for the old A-and-Eagle, with its fiercer-looking bird.

Looks like a cartoon, similar to InBev’s previous logo.

I hate it. It’s sad to see the old logo go.

you can tell the world class marketing dept at AB did not design this logo… The Belguims must have done it. It looks shoddy and cheap. What an embarrassment to history of AB and the creative Marketing dept of AB~!

As a graphic designer, I don’t think much of the logo. In particular, the A linking to the B tries hard to be clever, but it’s really trite. It’s also unbalanced, with the eagle flying out of the frame. Doesn’t do much for me, and it’s a sad end to a glorious era.

Obviously this is simply the first round of designs. Surely this is not final. As a graphic designer, I would like to offer my services to design a new logo the newly merged brewery.

Time for new logo and new ideas.

The Bud Lite “drinkability” campaign must go! The beverage with the most drinkability is water! While BL has a very mild taste, I don’t think AB should be comparing it with water! (It’s a beer for people who really don’t care for the taste of beer but can’t admit it.)

I think the logo change is appropriate. The old AB logo has a definate American look to it. Since ABInBev is a foreign company I think it makes sense to drop any patriotic themes.
