Jambalaya: New ‘cue in the Loop and Cahokia
Joe Bonwich
P-D Restaurant Critic and Food Writer

Again, we attempt to unclutter my desk by printing the various stuff all over it.

Now open in the Delmar Loop (or at least just past the eastern edge of it) is Sir B Que, 5898 Delmar Boulevard. Owner Sir Bruce Williams has been in the foodservice business for more than 20 years. Sir B Que is open daily; call 314-875-0050 or visit www.sirbque.com for more information….And thanks to my regular bbq tipster Ted for alerting me about Sawmill BBQ, 4060 Mississippi Avenue (Route 3) in Cahokia. It’s open from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. Monday-Saturday; call 618-332-3000 for more info….Watch for a June 27 opening of Bici Cafe in the old Sofia Cafe spot at 7401 Pershing Avenue in U. City….Paul and Wendy Hamilton of Eleven Eleven Mississippi and Vin de Set fame have opened the ambiguously sized and gendered Grand Petite Market, a specialty wine, culinary and gift shop, on the ground floor of the Vin de Set building at 2017 Chouteau Avenue in the Lafayette Square Neighborhood.

Peripatetic chef Marc Felix will be cooking at “All In Good Taste,” a fundraiser at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 24 to benefit the St. Louis Family Violence Council. Felix is preparing dishes with and accompanied by a variety of Anheuser-Busch beverages, including Czechvar-braised sea bass with potato salad, jicama watermelon salad with Bacardi Silver Mango Mojito dressing and Michelob Amber Bock-briased short ribs with carrot hash. The event will be held at Lumen, 2201 Locust Street; tickets are $65. Visit Black Tie St. Louis for reservations.

And the first Missouri-side Olga’s Kitchen will open June 28 in Chesterfield Mall, with 10 percent of profits going to Operation Food Search. The grand opening will also offer a chance to win one of five $1,000 shopping sprees in Chesterfield Mall and five “Olga’s For A Year” cash cards.
