Andrew Jones, formerly of Wild Oats, is shooting for an October 1 opening of Foundation Grounds, a new coffee house and light-food spot at 7298 Manchester Road. Coffee will be from Northwest Coffee and planned hours are 6:30 a.m. until 9 p.m. And in honor of the Olympics, the intrepid Joy Grdnic has put the Fountain Flower on her menu at the Fountain on Locust, 3037 Locust Street in Midtown. It’s a special tea for two where the flower opens up in the cup as it steeps, served with some of the Fountain’s chocolates.
Cost is $9.99.

Joe, I would be grateful if you would include the name of the municipality along with the address of the establishments you’re reviewing, especially those on streets like Manchester or Clayton Road that stretch for miles. For example, is Foundation Grounds in Rock Hill or Town & Country or Ellisville? The street numbers don’t mean too much me (maybe that speaks to my poor sense of direction in general). Just a suggestion.

Maplewood is a municipality, in the article about the coffee House, and I would guess, since I live in Illinois, that it is close to Brentwood Blvd.

I kinda thought the headline “New Maplewood coffee house” was a dead giveaway as to where it is.

it’s going to be located 2-3 blocks west from Southwest-Manchester split, on the southside of Manchester…..there have been several clothes and coffee nooks in that space over the past few years. Apparently the paradym for the new cafe will be local/organic/healthy foods, alot sourced from area farmers. Breakfast with baked goods, sandwiches/soups/salads menu. Sounded like a good addition to the neighborhood.
