Off The Vine suspends operations
P-D Restaurant Critic and Food Writer
There’s nothing reflecting this on the website for Off The Vine, 2605 Hampton, but a sign on the door says: “Due to a family health issue, Off The Vine will be closed for an indeterminate amount of time. Gift certificates will be honored at Nick’s Pub, 6001 Manchester Road, 314-781-7801. We apologize for any inconvenience.”
Off The Vine took a hit when founding chef Andy White left the restaurant over the summer only about six months after the restaurant opened. With luck, this health issue will pass and the restaurant will revive — although if a change is necessitated, wouldn’t it be something if the soon-to-shutter Blue Water Grill returned to its ancestral home?

Joe Bonwich has been the restaurant critic for the Post-Dispatch since 2002 and has covered the local food scene for various publications for more than 25 years. He does his best to maintain his anonymity so that he isn't recognized in restaurants (which is why his picture looks like it does).
I wouldnt go back to this restuarant ever. To begin with but the food was over priced and wasnt what I was expecting for what I ordered. I know to go is usually not the best way to go but it just wasnt worth the time. If Blue Water Grill would come back it might not be such a waste
