Just got a very interesting note from the PR person for Brad Lobdell, who intends to open a bar called the International Tap House at the corner of Edison and Long roads in the Chesterfield Valley by the Super Bowl on Feb. 1.

Some tidbits about the place:

  • Serves no food, but patrons can order from three other menus from nearby restaurants.
  • Serves every beer in its proper glass (flute, tulip, pint, mug, pilsner, etc.)
  • Non-smoking.
  • Drink-in or carryout.
  • 40 of the 500 beers are on draught.
  • The place will go by iTap for short.
  • More as I learn it.

Brad, good luck to your new business. I hope you can help St. Louis come out of the dark ages concerning beer.

Let’s hope you strive to be similar to the Map Room in Chicago and Ebeneezer’s Pub in Maine.

Let the guys who spell out A.W.E.S.O.M.E. go to Growler’s.

Great, this is right around the corner from my subdivision, Chesterfield Estates, so I will be able to just walk home after I’ve had too many!

Hey, I hope they have some decent non-alcoholic beers. O’Douls just blows. I am hoping for Kaliber and maybe some other good foreign N.A. beers. No St Pauli n.a., though. That stuff tastes like !@#$%.

    Brad-

We are off to a great start giving you some quality ideas for your new beer bar. Lets recap:

“Matt” is looking for Michelob Golden (Out of 500 beers, he is looking for Michelob, unbelievable!!!!)

“Teetotaler” is looking for a wide range of non-alcholic beers. (Not knocking those who choose not to drink but…..)

“Dreamski” is looking for things that are “A.W.E.S.O.M.E.”, talent, and PF Chang’s.

How about a friendly staff, decent prices, Southern Tier, Great Divide, St. Bernardus, Chouffe, Bell’s, De Stuise, Schlafly, Rochefort, Brasserie Dieu Du Ciel, and so on………….
