Parker’s Table wine and food store moving…somewhere.
In my inbox from over the weekend was a note from Jonathan Parker announcing the closing of his charming Parker’s Table wine and food shop at 8137 Maryland Avenue in Clayton. Parker and business partner Tony Almond bought the place in 1996 and Parker took it over as a sole proprietorship in 1998.
The note says the building has been sold but that a move is probable, although no new address is cited. Meanwhile, he instituted clearance prices Saturday and will hold a day-long farewell and toast to the future on Saturday, Jan. 31, when prices will be dropped even further. Store hours are 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday; for more information, call 314-863-4090.

Joe Bonwich has been the restaurant critic for the Post-Dispatch since 2002 and has covered the local food scene for various publications for more than 25 years. He does his best to maintain his anonymity so that he isn't recognized in restaurants (which is why his picture looks like it does).
Maybe I can get a bottle of Mogan David for $2 at the clearance sale.
