Changes in Midtown/Grand Center: Wm. Shakespeare’s and the Fountain
P-D Restaurant Critic and Food Writer
Or the Midtown and the Covenant-Blu neighborhood, if you really want to be precise. Anyway, Wm. Shakespeare’s, at Washington and Grand, has instituted “summer hours,” which means “event only” hours and no lunch.
And over in the Locust Business District, The Fountain on Locust has expanded its hours to Sundays, open from 11 a.m.-8 p.m.

Joe Bonwich has been the restaurant critic for the Post-Dispatch since 2002 and has covered the local food scene for various publications for more than 25 years. He does his best to maintain his anonymity so that he isn't recognized in restaurants (which is why his picture looks like it does).
I hope that means business is picking up for the Fountain. Haven’t eaten there yet, but the ice cream is great!
The Fountain on Locust is great, great soups, love the homemaid rootbeer and the icecream.
