Our town’s most romantic and authentic French restaurant, Chez Leon, hosts its annual Bastille Day festival July 14, featuring live music, toasts, and Francophile extraordinaire Leon Bierbaum leading diners in a rousing rendition of the Marseillaise. It’s a prix-fixe menu, although there are options on several of the five courses. Cost is $75 per person plus tax and gratuity — not inexpensive, but Leon and his brigade pull out all the stops for this one. For reservations, call 314-361-1589.
Also upcoming at Chez Leon is a meal pairing the foods and wines of southwest of France. That one is $55 for five courses, four wines and crème de pêche with dessert.
