Rainy days
St. Louis Post-Dispatch
When you and your kids are used to spending time outside every day in the summer, things can come to a screeching halt when it rains. The “I’m boreds” can become too much to bear for a parent.
So yesterday when the rain wouldn’t let up, my family packed it in the car and drove to a nearby trail mostly covered by trees. We were able to do a little nature walk while only getting minimally wet.
Looks like we’re facing another rainy day today. Does anyone have any ideas?

Taking a trip to the library is a good free time. But some of the other things we do during rainy summer days is go to our local indoor water park/pool. Most communitites have some kind of recreational center that has this. We are just really luck because ours has a nice indoor water park/slide. Also bowling is another fun option that we do on rainy days.
My daughter isn’t old enough to do this with yet, but I remember lots of fun days in the summer when I was a kid where my friends and I would play in the rain! Put on a swimming suit and play in the sprinkler that covered the whole back yard! As long as it wasn’t storming or lightning or anyhting, we would stay outside till we were prunes!
What about going to a play area at a local mall? Places like the Mills mall had larger indoor play areas, mini golf etc.
