Five ways to keep kids entertained on a snow day

It’s the second snow day in a row. Some kids are starting to go stir crazy or driving their parents to drink in the a.m. When they are tired of playing in the snow or watching TV, here are five cheap and easy ways to keep the kids entertained:

1. Sock fight. No one gets hurt, and you can make the matching game afterwards into a contest.

2. Pillow fort. PIle all the sofa cushions, pillows and a few large blankets in an open space. Turn the clean-up into a contest

3. Dance contest. Everyone gets to pick a favorite song. Give small prizes (like a cookie) for most original, most crazy, etc.

4. Indoor Olympics. Roll up the rug or move the sofas aside. Try three-legged races, pillow case races, etc.

5. Read books aloud until you’ve lost your voice.

If you’ve got another suggestion, please post it. The neighbors will thank you.

You kept them inside and didn’t let them out?
