Free family nights at the St. Louis Magic House
In this economy, admission prices for our local kid-friendly attractions can seem like an expensive playdate. Here’s some relief:
Courtesy of Target, families will be admitted free of charge to The Magic House, St. Louis Children’s Museum on the third Friday of every month in 2009. The next Free Family Night is Friday, March 20 from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitors will be allowed entry until capacity is reached. This special evening enables a family (no more than two adults and four of their own children) to play with hundreds of hands-on exhibits including the recently opened expansion that doubled the size of the museum.
Reservations are not required.
Brilliant marketing strategy, Target!

Very cool! St Louis has so many great attractions that I think are missed by families here. They can seem pricey but giving up a meal out can easily afford you a trip to the Magic House or City Museum. Heck, most people will pay $50-$100 a month for cable. Cut the cord and get out of the house!
Nice job Target!
Actually The Magic House has had Free Family Night since its early years, Target just happens to be the sponsor this year. So… brilliant marketing strategy, Magic House!
As Brooke said, this isn’t new. We’ve enjoyed it for 2 years, and it was probably around before our daughter was old enough to go. It’s a bit more crowded than usual, but the price is right.
It amazes me how much I loved the place as a kid and how much more there is for her to love now.
