No wedding bells for Bristol and Levi: Single motherhood ahead
Despite the promises and photo-ops on the campaign trail, the high school romance between Bristol Palin and Levi has burned out. According to Swampland, Levi Johnston has told the AP that the engagment is off.
The teen-aged parents have broken up. The odds seem to have been stacked against them. The National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy reports that ”at the time of their child’s birth, almost 1/3 of unmarried teen mothers are ‘certain’ that they will marry the biological father of their child. Another 25% say their chances of marrying are ‘good.’” But in reality, “not even 8% of unwed teen mothers are married to the baby’s father within the year.”
I guess this makes Gov. Sarah Palin’s daughter a predictable statistic. I sense a “teachable moment,” parents. Unless, of course, you are a high school teacher wanting to teach kids how to avoid these kinds of problems in the first place.

Aisha covered education and breaking news for nearly ten years before joining the Lifestyle staff where she writes a "Dirty Laundry" parenting column. She is the home and family editor and wastes too much time on Facebook and political blogs.
If you wait until high school to teach how to avoid these problems, you’re too late.
Big surprise. Who cares? Enough of the Palins
Not a suprise here either. This kid is just lucky Palin lost the election, because if she had won, he would be Mr. Bristol Palin.
