We all have our coping mechanisms, some healthy (like working out to blow off steam), some not so healthy (like eating a bag of Family Size Doritos in one sitting). The momlogic site recently surveyed its users to find out how moms are coping with the stress of this uncertain economy. The survey results revealed:

•1 in 3 moms are turning to vices like overeating, drinking, drugs, and gambling to cope.
• 64% of moms feel intensely negative emotions.
• 50% of moms are less satisfied with their lives now than before the economic downturn.
• 1 in 4 moms are having less sex with their partners.
• 27% of moms 25-34 want to have more children but are holding off because of the recession.

For moms with spouses/partners who lost their job the results are more severe:

• 80% of moms feel overwhelmed.
• 50% say they spend more time fighting and less time having sex.

You can check out the site’s Recession Survival Guide  for tips on better ways to deal.

How are you coping? Do you find yourself returning to a bad habit you thought you had left behind?
