Homeopathic remedy for child’s cough and cold
We had been battling our son’s terrible chesty cough for nearly a week. Given all the warnings about giving children over-the-counter cough syrup, I doubted the nightly dose we were giving him would help clear his cough. But as any parent who has stayed up all night with an exhausted, hacking child knows, it’s hard to sit back and do nothing. We have been religiously offering natural home remedies like hot tea with honey and a straight spoonfuls of honey.
A mom from our preschool suggested we try some homeopathic remedies available at Whole Foods. I decided to give it a shot. I bought a colloidal silver spray and the homeopathic children’s cough and cold syrup. Within 24 hours of giving him this treatment every few hours (as directed), his cough is 90 percent better. Do you have any tried and tested home remedies that help ease a painful cough?

Businesses are honestly still allowed to sell silver as a ‘medicine’? Sounds great, “my kids skin turned blue, but his cough seems to have stopped”. If you want to keep using the finest witch docter techniques,let me know, I still have a large supply of kodak t-max film that I will sell at a discount. Plenty of silver within a gelatin base, and you won’t be gouged quite as bad as ‘whole paycheck’ would like while you maim your children with quack medicine.

You probably paid quite a bit for the CS spray. I’ve been making my own for over 10 years. You’re right. As a nasal spray it has cured my chronic sinusitis and the accasional bouts with bronchitis and pnuemonia. It just never get sick as long as I’m religiously using the CS spray twice a day. It’s very easy to make your own (less than a dollar per gallon) and you won’t have problems with Argyria (smurfy looking color)as long as you use pure filtered CS. That warning below from -Do not use is bogus. Who do you think controls the NIH’s National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicidine. Follow the money.
I have been using colloidal silver that I make for almost 6 moths taking up to 3 quarts per day of the strongest solution that I can make. I have proven it definitly works. I have had a chronic bladder infection since a prostrate operation, but with the CS I do not have to take any antibiotics.
I am fine tuning the process of making it using a current limiting diode (for finer particles) and a fish tank bubbler (to prevent tunneling) and hopefully, someday, it will kill the infection entirely.
They say (Dr. Becker) that it kills cancer cells. So it may be helping on that too.
I have another Prostate Antigen test this week and hopefuly it is down. The last one showed good results. I agree that warning -Do not use- is bogus. The big pharmaceutical companies control the NIH’s National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicidine and they have billions of dollars they stand to lose.
Please be wary when using homeopathic “medicines” such as silver with your children, or yourselves. Silver could have benefits if used correctly, but has been proven to accumulate in organs and especially the skin. Inhaled products can make their way into the blood stream and should be used with extreme caution. I’d rather you give your child the cough medicine over the counter that has been through test after test than any “natural” remedy. Remember, these don’t have to pass any safety or efficacy tests to be sold. As a mom I know its horrible when your child is sick with a cough, but I’d rather him cough than turn blue.
my mother-in-law is the person we always turn to for natural remedies whether it be for cough or an ear ache. We have been giving our kids Delsym cough syrup since it came out (stopped using Robbitussin for kids), but what we have started to put in it is a few drops of Oreganol (which can be found at any health food store), the kids don’t always like it, but it works. I stopps the cough after a few days, and opens up the airways if they are stuffed up. We also have put the oreganol drops in hot water and had them inhale it to break up any muccus they have in their chest and heads. Don’t knock it until you try it.
