I hate to sound nostalgic but there is a look, and feel to film that is absent from digital photography. Don’t get me wrong, the current generation of digital cameras are amazing. The resolution of 5D Mark II is stunning, bordering breath taking. And I never imagined shooting pictures that look so smooth at 12,500 ISO. But digital photography’s absence of grain and film’s other imperfections make is seem plastic and a little cold.
I look forward to see the work these 10 photographers produce. The deadline for submission of proposals is 11/01/2009.
