Boxer “brings his game face on” for one last title

He might be getting older, but he’s no punching bag and he’s ready to prove it again for his fourth title in five years. Check out an audio slideshow compiled from training time with St. Louis boxer Ronald Gibson. He’s preparing for his title fight Saturday in the Mens’ 60-70 age bracket in the 152 lb class at the Ringside tourney in Kansas City. Thanks to the coaches and boxers at the Cherokee Rec Center who let me in to share the story of one boxer’s quest for a last title. Declining health and weak knees will sideline Gibson from the ring when he retires at the end of the year.
