Rookie hazing

Rams rookies Chris Long, David Vobora and John Greco show off their mustache-growing efforts at Rams training camp in Mequon, Wisc.

“They look like something out of the Village People,” Rams head coach Scott Linehan said. The players were required to grow mustaches as part of rookie hazing, but don’t feel too bad for them.

Long, the second overall pick in the 2008 draft, signed a contract for $60 million over six years.

Vobora has picked up a lot of recognition as “Mr. Irrelevant,” the last player picked in the NFL draft, as detailed in Bill Coats’ article.

Due to injuries on the offensive line, Greco has been getting some snaps with the first-team offense.

Rams training camp started into the second week of practice today. For those scoring at home, according to beat writer Bill Coats, Steven Jackson has now missed 8 days of training camp, 12 practices and his fine total for holding out has reached $120,000.
