At the beginning of the presidential campaign, I created a gallery called “On the Campaign Trail” to showcase photography of the candidates as they met potential voters across the country.
Sometimes I would look for themes to build the gallery around, but mostly I simply wanted to highlight good photographs.
One thing I noticed is that candidates never turned down an opportunity to sample the local fare. And photographers never missed an opportunity to capture them with their mouths open.

In fact, the candidate I saw photographed most often chowing down was our next President, Barack Obama.  Now after almost two years on the trail, and imagining all the places he must have eaten that weren’t on anyone’s list of healthy places to dine, I can only think one thing:   He may be our next president, but perhaps he should also be our next national diet guru. The guy never gained an ounce!  What is his secret?
