You know how when the car is making a noise, the noise magically stops as soon as you drive into the mechanic’s garage? How that sore throat mysteriously clears as soon as you walk into the doctor’s office?
I can’t tell you how gratifying it was to see this frozen proof of my need for the plumber the very morning he was scheduled to arrive!
Thank you, winter weather.
However, it is a reminder to all of us with homes: Winter is here, and before the pipes freeze, don’t forget to turn the water supply off to the outside hoses. My faucet leak was a minor repair outside the home, but we’ve all heard stories of frozen pipes bursting in basements, so be aware of the little winter jobs that won’t wait, and I hope you won’t be the subject of one of those stories.
