Sharp enough for the Web, not for the paper
St. Louis Post-Dispatch
You might not be able to tell, but this picture isn’t exactly in focus. I guess it looks okay at 600 pixels wide on this blog, but it’s definitely not sharp enough for the newspaper. This photograph is what people call a “Hail Mary.” It’s when a photographer holds the camera up as high as possible and tries to make an image blindly. Lucky for me, the image was composed just as I envisioned. Unlucky for me, my focus point was off. This happens a lot in our line of work. I’m sure most photographers out there can recall a few of their misses in the past year. If you can recall any, share your story. It will make me feel better.

You can’t tell it here and it’s still a nice image.
Luckily, you seem to have more hits than misses.
