Another teddy bear memorial to think about
We all know what these mean when we see them. They usually mark the spot where someone died…perhaps needlessly. This one stands in the 4100 block of Page Blvd. between Whittier and N. Sarah Streets. It appears to be relatively new. The artificial flowers are still bright and colorful. The items have not yet been weather beaten. As I shot this early one morning last week, I waited a for just one person to walk by to tell me for whom it was erected. But I was the only person to approach it after 15 minutes.
A quick look in our newspaper’s archives leads me to believe this memorial is for Kevin N. Smith, 36, of St. Louis, and Stephanie Monique Spagner, 36, of Bellefontaine Neighbors who were shot to death while sitting in a car on Feb. 25th. in that block of Page Blvd.
If anyone knows this for sure, please comment.
