Recognition for pizza artist
Sometimes photo credits are left out by accident but that doesn’t mean that good work should remain unnoticed. In this case, Ted Wilson of The Good Pie on Olive Street in St. Louis spent quite a bit of time sculpting a fleur-de-lis symbol out of salami, a white anchovy, sausage, kalamata olives, and a basil leaf for our GO! cover story on the best pizza the city has to offer. The salami was particularly difficult to sculpt with a pizza cutter. All I had to do was press the shutter button on my camera but Ted, whose credit was kind of buried in the section, deserves all the praise for taking time out of his schedule to help make the cover image a success.

Good job, Ted! John, when I saw it I wondered if it was a food shoot or a Photoshop job. I’m glad to know there are photographers still willing to go the extra mile to get a real photo, not a photo-montage, photo-illustration ro composite. Well done to you both!
Thanks, garricks! The photo credit on page 2 of the GO! section indicated that it was a “photo illustration” but it was indeed a regular photograph made without the use of Photoshop, clip art, or any kind of digital manipulation. The only things manipulated in the photo were the ingredients.
