If a picture is worth a thousand words than…

… then this one pretty much sums up how I feel today.

Here’s the back story? No pun intended.

Having already completed my morning run, my business portrait and lunch Wednesday morning, I arrived at my assignment in serious pain. My lower back muscles went into spasm. Getting my gear out of my trunk was proving to be difficult and I was wondering if I could effectively make photos at the boxing gym.

I am still unsure what triggered my spasm, but I have compiled a list of possible contributing factors:

— triathlon training

— absence of Bikram yoga classes which stretch me out,

— mild dehydration from not drinking enough water in warm weather while “on stakeout”

for a possible arrest in the Columbia triple murder

The only thing I know for certain is my profession is known for aiding and abetting bad backs. I’ ve heard horror stories of the toll this profession could take on you back. Now I am experiencing it first hand

Lying on my back the last couple days have reminded me how much I enjoyment pain- free movement and that I need to take care of myself if I hope to continue shooting into my twilight years.

Lying on the floor with my heat pad, staring at the ceiling simply pales in comparison to being out and about reporting news in the community.

Bikram yoga here I come.
