Oh, is there anything this funky Seattle photographer can’t do? As PDN reports, commercial shooter and hardcore Nikon user Chase Jarvis “has managed to land at the intersection of two big trends: Low-fi photography and mobile applications” with his very own iPhone app, Best Camera, now on sale though Apple’s App Store.

Users can take a picture through their iPhone 3GS (like mine in white) and apply a set of “signature filters” to their images to create specialized “looks.” Then users can upload pictures to social media sites like Facebook and Twitter and share them with other people.

My frugal (read: cheap) behavior forbids me from paying for iPhone apps. Heck, the monthly AT&T service charge pushes my limit. Yet, I love the iPhone, and I love the work (and personality) of Chase. Maybe it’s time to change that policy? And no, that wasn’t me dishing $3.55(ish) for an iced latte over at the Loughborough Starbucks ok it totally was.

You can get the full read here plus check out some snaps at his new social site www.thebestcamera.com — which is aptly tied along with his fresh book, The Best Camera Is The One That’s With You.
