Los Angeles has one. Hawaii, Dallas, and even Hong Kong. So now, St. Louis is the home to the latest Final Cut Pro Users Group. What the heck is a FCPUG? Basically, it’s a community of dedicated video producers getting together and geeking out about gear, software and techniques.

“We felt that the video production community in St. Louis was lacking a way for people to get together and grow their skills,” says Rick Hensel, with Spot Creative Media Group, one of its sponsors.

“It’s a way to network and raise the quality level of video production in St. Louis. But this group is not limited only to editing. Other production graphic techniques, web applications and field productions are all fair game.”

I used the LAFCPUG.org in my college days to figure out all my mistakes in class. The first meeting for the St. Louis group is Tuesday, September 1 at 6:30 pm in Lafayette Square. (1445 S. 18th St. Suite 129)

The monthly sessions are free and they promise food at the meetings. Their website: http://www.stlfcpug.org Email them for more info: info@stlfcpug.org
