Obama wants YOU to review stimulus

Want some great bedtime reading? Try more than 1,500 pages of Congressional-ese. That is, try the final text of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.
On Friday, the House and Senate passed the conference report — the negotiated $787 billion version of plan — that now goes to President Barack Obama’s desk. Obama is inviting the public to read five PDF’d portions of the stimulus and offer comment.
But why? Obviously, one Obama campaign theme was inclusiveness. And in a Web 2.0 world, it seems reasonable and perhaps good to ask for the input of the public.
But Obama, in pragmatic terms, has no ability to act on the “public feedback” he receives, right? He can’t add to the bill; nor can he line-item veto anything. And given that he is slated to sign the whole thing tomorrow, does anything John and Jane Public have to say matter at this point?
(This of course assumes that vetoing the bill that he and Democrats fought for would be just plain dumb, politically.)
So, what will the Obama administration do with the comments? Will this be a part of marketing campaign in the future? Fodder for Stimulus II? An attempt at Web interactivity that is little more than bells and whistles?
Maybe a well-timed FOIA request could enlighten me. Any thoughts on the matter, blogosphere?
This is ridiculos and should be stopped! How can we in good concious do this to our children? Our elected officials who support this as a “way to fix” our economy are idiots. What ever happened to common sense and hard work as a core value to live by and pass on to our children? Politicians today are nothing but a side show and not to be trusted including our most recently elected President. If this is his idea of “change” and bringing transparancy to Government he is nothing but a bunch of the same old crap!
I am sure none of the usual republican cynics on this site can comment because they are busy reading every word of this proposal. After all, that is what they complained Dems did not do, and they would not be hypocrites would they?
It would have been nice if the proposal had been put out there BEFORE it was passed. As it is, the house passed it at 11 pm on Thursday, a non-searchable pdf was available on Speaker Pelosi’s website in the morning, and by that evening, it was all done. Public feedback on a fait accompli is a meaningless mockery.
Still do not get it, eh?
Ok, let’s try this in more simple aproach;
Economy is in flames - not as bad as Obama and his gang is saying but is not good anyway.
The Obama buddies start all this pushing the banks to do bad deals (and here goes the very well known agenda of FANNIE,FREDDIE, ALONG WITH THE COVER-UP GROUP ;- PELOSI, REID, FRANK,DOOD,COX , AND OTHERS WEEDS,…ALL PART OF THE OBAMA BUDDIES SPECTRUM.
The new proposal is designed to PERPETUATE THE ORIGINAL SIN - sort of speak - AGAINST THE TAXPAYERS ,and in doing so,… violating the trust and money of the american people.
Obama and his gang (Geithner, Pelosi,Reid,Barney Frank,…and others) are trying with DESPERATION TO SELL THIS JOKE . AND OBAMA HIMSELF IS PUSHING HERCULEANS EFFORTS WITH HIS VERY EFFECTIVE ORATORIAL SKILLS TO ENGULF THE MASSES ,ONCE MORE ,AS HE DID FOR THE FRAUDULENT PAST ELECTIONS…..(remember ACORN?,… and others things?
This so called ’stimulus’ is MORE OF THE SAME,…MORE FUEL TO THE FIRE ALREADY CONSUMING AMERICAN ECONOMICS.
It is just a TOOL for the step-by-step NATIONALIZATION OF THE PRIVATE ASSET that brings as result ,SOCIALISM-MARXISM and ultimately, COMMUNISM INTO OUR LAND ,…in other words, THE END OF OUR CAPITALIST FREE ENTERPRISE SYSTEM, FOUNDATION OF OUR ROOTS IN THE SOCIO-ECONOMICS.
If anyone believe this is good?,….then start to endorsing the soul to Carl Max, Fredderick Engels, Trosky, Stalin and so forth and so on.
Now this is just in nut-shell. Want more?, then read, investigate, research, get information ,…for in final analysis?,… KNOWLEDGE IS THE REAL POWER.

Our current President waits FOUR DAYS TO SIGN A BILL HE DEMANDED AS REQUIRED?

while i am enjoying my 8 dollar per paycheck stimulas BONE-us, isn’t it nice to know that ACORN, the organization that is part and parcel to this financial meltdown is being rewarded with a 160 MILLION dollar pay-off for their support of this idiot president, not to mention the fact that ACORN in every election in recent history finds itself sending its rank and file to jail for ELECTION FRAUD…didn’t blago get impeached for asking for the same type of pay-off ? It looks like Obama is in the same path of ‘almost dictator’ Hugo Chavez from Venezuela.
First, nationalization of the private asset - banks and so on,, then, censorship - no more free speech etc, then, dictation of norms and guidelines for everything pertinent to the public.

Obama wants YOU to review the bill because he is too busy flying all over the country to read it himself.
I don’t know why anyone is suprise that this was voted through without a single representative actually reading the bill……the American people have been voting ignorant for decades.
