Obama, McCaskill take sharp pencils to defense spending
Obama lines up with McCaskill and other senators today
WASHINGTON — Flanked by Sen. Claire McCaskill, D-Mo., and other budget hawks, President Barack Obama this morning announced reforms in defense contract spending that he said could save taxpayers $40 billion each year.
Obama made it clear his plan was aimed at spending more efficiently rather than simply spending less, adding more oversight to selecting contractors.
“In Iraq, too much money has been paid out for services that were never performed, buildings that were never completed, companies that skimmed off the top,” Obama said
“The days of giving defense contractors a blank check are over,” he added later.
By July, the administration will release a government-wide guidance so agencies can review existing contracts and eliminate wasteful programs.
The second phase of the reform calls for the following by the end of September:
- More openness to small businesses in contracting offers to stimulate competition.
- Greater guidance on when governmental outsourcing is needed and when its unnecessary.
- Greater oversight on all contract spending in all government agencies.
At the end of the briefing Obama tipped his hat to congressional leaders who are working with him on the issue, including Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., and McCaskill, “who has been sharpening her pencil” on the issue, Obama said.

It seems that the safeguard if our country is not in the best interst for the cuurent administration.Deterioration of the NATIONAL SECURITY SHIELDING that kept us safe during the Bush administration is going at alarming rate.

Obama and his gang are running out of EXCUSES to substanciate the failure to ‘fix the economy crissis’.
It is important to notice that his so called ‘crissis’ IS NOT AS BAD AS IT IS ‘SOLD TO THE MASSES’- almost infused (like an ENEMA )by Obama and his goup of corrupted tax cheaters, terrorist advocates , etc …however, America is AWAKENING,and is detecting that ALL THIS THEATRICAL DISPLAY IS A DIVERSION FOR NOBODY TO NOTICE THE SYSTEMATIC DESINTEGRATON IN THE NATIONAL DEFENSE, SO OUR GREAT COUNTRY CAN GET WIPED-OUT.

It seems that Obama(tagged as ‘president’) IS the ‘FRONT MAN’, A ‘TROJAN HORSE FACTOR’, if you will, in a group interested to DESTROY OUR GREAT COUNTRY VIA ECONOMIC COLLAPSE, AND WEAKENING OF THE NATIONAL DEFENSE STRUCTURE.
But the real ‘behind the scene’ CONTROLLERS of this MASTER PLAN, have to be INDENTIFIED, EXPOSED AND PROVED TO BE AS THEY REALLY ARE,…ENEMIES OF THE STATE.
Here is an idea; a team of atorneys-at-the-law, experts in THE CONSTITUTION, …investigators journalists analysts, TO LAUNCH A MASSIVE TOUR THE FORCE program of RESEARCH to PROVE TO THE PUBLIC this CURRENT CORRUPTED ADMINSTRATION AS ANTI-AMERICAN/UN-AMERICAN PRACTICES ORIENTED…so they will be IDENTIFIED AND PRESENTED TO THE PUBLIC.
Then, A CALL for a GENERAL CITIZENS REFERENDUM, in order to REMOVE FROM WASHINGTON ALL OF THEM AND BE REPLACED WITH HONEST, AND SERIOUS OFFICERS TO SERVE THE COUNTRY, WITH INTEGRITY.
Perhaps, doing this - or something on that line of thought - , we do not have to wait for 2010 not even 2012 to TAKE OUR BELOVED COUNTRY BACK!
Impeachments had been done before ( for presidents, governors, etc),…perhaps THIS ONE, will be the first one on history,… to be the first of its kind… A TOTAL GOVERNMENT ANTI-TREASON IMPEACHMENT.

As stated previously Rush and his followers are far removed from reality.
Even most of the pork in this bill now is from Republicans, I agree, too much pork and hopefully Obama will veto the bill if there is too much unnecessary pork in it, we will know when it gets to him.
To be honest, Obama need this bill passed and has no power over the bill before it reaches him. How about all the Republicans voluntarily removing the pork from the bill before it reaches Obama then I will be willing to listen to Republicans and their grievances about wasted pork spending that they claim are within the bill. I seriously do not get Republicans these days.

No I will not revise it because this is what I have been reading, and it is exactly what McCaskil stated as was posted here after I wrote my comment. I will take it back only after someone prove to be that my statement is wrong on its face.
“Every single member of Republican leadership has earmarks in this bill,” McCaskill said. “Every single one of these people rejected the stimulus … because supposedly they were so upset about wasteful spending.”
