D.C. metro traffic jams for Obama inauguration

WASHINGTON - Ominous transit moment on my way downtown on the Metro. Hundreds of people packed into a train, getting more crowded with every stop, when the lights started turning on and off and the operator came on the intercom to announce that everyone had to get off because of mechanical difficulties.
Now we’re hundreds of people standing on a platform - and every train going by is fully stuffed. There have been radio reports of similar holdups at other areas of the Metro, which is attempting to move an unprecedented crush of riders today. This could be bad.
