F. Thompson heading here for St. Louis County fundraiser

Former Sen./current actor Fred Thompson will likely be putting to rest the will-he-won’t-he speculation next week when he stops in St. Louis for a fundraiser at the home of Anne and Tom Walsh.

It’s appropriately billed “An Evening With Fred Thompson.”

The $1,000-$2,300 a person event (the higher price gets one a photo with the expected Republican presidential hopeful) is next Tuesday (Aug. 21). The photo op is at 6 p.m., with the reception at 6:30 p.m.

Political Fix is still determining if there will be any public events or press availability during Thompson’s visit.

The GOP must be in sad shape if this is their savior!?! The guy is Bush clone with regard to policy positions…and apparently he has a reputation for being somewhat lazy when it comes to work.

Gee-at least Dubya put a lot of effort into being an unwavering idealogue who lied through his teeth and fiercely protected his minions from any type of accountability.

Thompson? Please!

Jo: No room left on the expense account?

While I make no claim as to knowing, I assume that there will not be press access… as you would only want to ask one question…

Donnie:

Yes we have a savoir… no Fred Thompson isn’t Him.

However Fred Thompson just might have the “stones’ needed to defeat the White Witch that your party will be running.

and remember: In the series Law & Order, Fred Thompson plays the title character.

At this time, only Rudy G. can give the democrats a tough battle and that includes Thompson.

Is the $2300 photo op with Fred or his wife?

Sounds like a real snoozer.

Thompson has thus far been all contrived imgage and no details. When the details of his proposed policies come out, then we’ll see what he’s all about. Having “stones” alone does not qualify one for the Presidency. And I have reached down there on the man, so who knows what he actually has. :)
It is somewhat telling that a guy with no clearly articulated positions or policies, and who hasn’t announced his candidacy, is able to rise so far above the rest of the pack. It says something about the GOP field.

Mark (#8)

Assume that everything you said is true.

It says much about the state of the democratic field that a Republican not yet formally running has your front runner within the margin of error.

And that Rudy is closer yet.

Isn’t 2008 supposed to be the year of the Democrat?

Doesn’t everyone supposed to hate Bush?

Isn’t that supposed to bury the GOP for next year?

Why then is it so close? Why isn’t Hillary ahead by 10, 15, 20%?

Hmmmm ?

That our guys at a few points behind yours gives us hope

That yours are a few points ahead of ours should scare to stuffing out of you
