Actor/former senator Fred Thompson didn’t need to show up in St. Louis to claim a victory at the National Federation of Republican Assemblies convention, held at the Airport Marriott over the weekend.

Thompson’s Web site is taking note that he won Sunday’s straw poll, which gauged the preferences of the 200-250 conventioneers from around the country.
