Legal Services honors legislators, lawyers; Judge Stith addresses lawyers/judges
Laura Denvir Stith, chief justice of the Missouri Supreme Court of Missouri, addressed the opening luncheon Thursday at the joint annual meeting of The Missouri Bar and the Judicial Conference of Missouri.

The Judicial Conference also honored six legislators with Special Recognition Awards for outstanding legislative service to the people of Missouri.
They are:state Sens. Timothy P. Green, D-Florissant, and Jolie L. Justus, D-Kansas City; and state Reps. Thomas A. Villa,D-St. Louis; Terry Young; D-Kansas City; Bob Dixon, R-Springfield; and Beth Low, D-Kansas City.
Meanwhile:
Legal Services of Eastern Missouri has set its annual awards luncheon set for Oct. 5 at the St. Louis Hilton at the Ballpark. The event begins at 11:30 a.m.
Among the 10 honorees, in various categories, are four legislators — state Sens. Michael Gibbons , R-Kirkwood, and Rob Mayer, R-Dexter, and state Reps. Jeannette Mott Oxford , D-St. Louis and Bryan Pratt, R-Blue Springs.
Also slated to be honored is a politically active lawyer, Harvey Tettlebaum of Jefferson City.
