At tonight’s rally for U.S. Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., set for 6 p.m. in Forest Park, Barbara Eagleton is slated to do the speaking honors.

She’s the widow of retired Sen. Thomas F. Eagleton, D-Mo.

Meanwhile, at the same time in Columbia, state Auditor Susan Montee is to do the same at the Obama rally there. That’s according to the Columbia Daily Tribune’s esteemed Politics blog.

(Montee had signed on months ago as one of Obama’s leading supporters in the state.)

UPDATE: About 130 turned out for the St. Louis rally in the World’s Fair Pavilion. Mrs. Eagleton praised Obama’s life experience, because his childhood was spent in several different countries and states.

Obama staff members also announced that he’ll be in St. Louis for a rally on Oct. 26.

Jo, my apologies, this has nothing to do with this particular thread, but I just read the “mothership” story about the SLPS court case in Cole County, and wondered who is paying the elected board’s attorney to represent them?

Do you see nothing wrong with that sentence?
