Giuliani events in Columbia, Chesterfield, open to public
Jo Mannies

State Rep. Steve Tilley, R-Perryville and a leader in the Missouri presidential effort of former Mayor Rudy Giuliani, called this afternoon to say that the GOP contender’s Wednesday events in Columbia and Chesterfield will be free and open to the public.

The initial campaign announcement of those visits did not make that point clear, but DID make clear the details were not to be made public at that time. (Presidential candidates, like high-level officials, often make such details available only to the press and stipulate that they not be made public. Gov. Matt Blunt’s staff, for example, has made that clear to me several times when I’ve posted his visits on this blog.)

Tilley said the details of the Columbia and Chesterfield visits can be made public.
So here they are:

2 p.m. Wednesday –Columbia Expo Center, Holiday Inn Select

2200 I-70 Drive, SW

5 p.m. — Smokehouse Market

16806 Chesterfield Airport Road

Tilley also emphasized that Giuliani’s public stops generally have been free, which he noted has not been the case for the two top Democratic contenders, U.S. Sens. Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York and Barack Obama of Illinois.
