Carnahan: Rethinking that old decision not to run for governor

A campaign spokesman for Secretary of State Robin Carnahan, a Democrat, confirmed that she is considering whether to make a run for governor — something she’d discarded last year.
If she did make a run, that would mean taking on Attorney General Jay Nixon in an August primary.
Carnahan spokesman Tony Wyche says she’s looking at it, but he emphasizes that she’s doing so only because she’s been contacted by some supporters.
“She has not put any thought into this yet, but she has received several calls from people urging her to consider it,” Wyche said. ” So she’s taking some time to think it through.”
He added that she recognized that, at this late date, she would need to make a decision “sooner rather than later.”
Robin should run. It would be risky given Nixon’s headstart, warchest and history of nasty ads, but leaders take risks.
Funny comment. “Leaders take risks”. That is why Robin decided to take on an incumbant governor one year ago? Yeah, she is a real leader. Make no mistake Robin is no Mel and the fact that she wants to get in now really demonstrates there is no “team” in politics(just a bunch of i’s). Let Robin destroy the ability of the Democrats to win in 2008.
Nixon has been to all 114 counties in Missouri TWICE!!! Every Democrat in the state has at least given him $25. Now that Blunt is out, Nixon is able to raise more moeny than ever before. If Robin runs there will be no money for her campaign, and the Dems will lose a statewide incumbent! Just not a good idea at all.
I like Robin, but this is the dumbest idea I have ever heard.
Of course, Oracle supports it, as it would be deterimental to the Democratic Party.

Robin Carnahan stated that she would not run for Governor to help the Democratic Party have unity, and now she thinks she is the “i” in unity.
What a shame?
Well if Robin Carnahan does run for Governor, we already know that her word is no good! Plus, where will her base of support come from because most Democrats are already committed to Jay Nixon.
If Robin Carnahan runs for Governor and losses in the primary, then support for the Carnahan family is through in politics. Then you can expect a Democrat to run against Russ Carnahan.
The Carnahan family is not the same Carnahan family the Democratic Party once knew!

Robin Carnahan was willing to let Jay Nixon take the bullet to run against an incumbent but, now that the incumbent will not run, she wants to shove Nixon aside and claim the nomination for herself. There is a real leader for you.
