Huckabee backers say there’s Mo-mentum
Kansas City-based Republican consultant Jeff Roe called in from South Carolina today, where he’s assisting former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee in Saturday’s GOP primary.
“Things seem to be breaking our way,” said Roe, referring to the trend that could benefit Huckabee . The two biggest rivals, said Roe, are former Tennessee Sen./actor Fred Thompson — who has made South Carolina his make-or-break state, and Sen. John McCain of Arizona, who has been leading in several of the polls.
Back in Missouri, Huckabee’s supporters also are rounding up more legislative and political allies. More legislators are soon to be announced as endorsing Huckabee, in addition to the 27 who have already done so.
Last Wednesday, Huckabee supporters gathered in Jefferson City. Among other things, they received a conference call from Sarah Huckabee, Huckabee’s daughter and the campaign’s field director.

Fred Thompson is the better man. Huckabee has to lose his health authoritarianism for some of us to get enthusiastic his campaign.
I’m not even sure Huckabee is a Republican.
I initially would have suspected that Huckabee’s campaign was not directly responsible for the disgusting push polling and hit attacks against McCain and others, but hearing that Roe is involved with Huckabee I now believe otherwise.

Huckabee is a snake in a silk shirt. Listen to what he told his supporters in Michigan a few days ago: “[Some of my opponents] do not want to change the Constitution, but I believe it’s a lot easier to change the constitution than it would be to change the word of the living God, and that’s what we need to do is to amend the Constitution so it’s in God’s standards rather than try to change God’s standards,”
He has several changes he’d like to make to the Constitution to reflect “God’s standards.” He doesn’t say WHICH god, but I’m thinking it wouldn’t take much imagination to figure it out. Can you imagine the blowback if a Morman, Catholic, Jewish or Muslim candidate suggested such a thing?
I have to believe that most reasonable Christians see through this theocratic nonsense and would be repelled by the nakedness of Huckabee’s ambitious pandering. If I didn’t believe that, I think I’d be terrified by the possibility of the election of and our future under such a man.
Huckabee is a social and fiscal conservative. Please stop believing the lies from other candidates and conservative media. The Establishment is afraid of Huckabee because he is led by his convictions, not political polls. They want a candidate they can control and that is Mitt Romney.
Romney is the most deceitful and dishonest person in the race. His company, Bain Capital bought Clear Channel which owns over 1,100 radio stations. It just so happens that Clear Channel is the home of Rush, Hannity, Ingraham and Beck. Any wonder why they all back Romney even though he held liberal social views in Mass and left the state with high unemployment and higher taxes (disguised as fees).
He and his friends made huge contributions to the Club for Growth so they would attack Huckabee. He has spent the last few years making large donations to conservative groups so they would back him as well. Wake up, Mitt is pulling the biggest scam on the American people and if we don’t pay attention, he may get away with it.
No one should be allowed to buy the presidency. We are a better country than that.
Clearly, Fred Thompson split the ticket and allowed McCain to win as Ross Perot split the ticket on H Bush allowing Billy C. to win in South Carolina.
Due to what I now call the “Fred Thompson chicken block” on Huckabee, Thompson allowed McCain to win S.C. with an otherwise 2nd place vote count. By McCain’s win, Huckabee’s supporters were given a greater national responsibility than before to also correct the Fred Thompson “Vote Block” mayhem in South Carolina and go forward to win Florida. Everyone knows that the GOP has started eating their own for sport and the most electable candidates are defending themselves from the otherwise “no plan” “no accomplishment” competitors where the last one standing may be the weakest GOP candidates.
Remember, Bob Dole and George H. Bush got hamburgered because the young voters would not or could not relate or associate with them and the same goes for McCain, not to mention the other bones in his closet. That means the democrats will win!
