Machinists endorse Harris for AG

This just in from state Rep. Jeff Harris’ campaign for the Democratic bid for Missouri attorney general:

“Former Missouri House Democratic Leader and Democratic candidate for Attorney General Jeff Harris has received the endorsement of the Missouri State Council of Machinists.”

State Council president Mike Louis said in a statement that “Jeff Harris’ commitment to the working women and men of this state has been unwavering. 

“Time after time Jeff has stood up to fight for what’s important to the labor movement, and I have no doubt he’ll continue to do the same as our next Attorney General.”  

Louis added, “The members of Missouri State Council of Machinists are enthusiastic about Jeff’s campaign and proud to endorse him.” 

Harris said the endorsement shows he has momentum against his two announced Democratic rivals: state Sen. Chris Koster of Harrisonville and state Rep. Margaret Donnelly of Richmond Heights.

 “As Attorney General I am committed to protecting the rights of the working men and women of Missouri,” Harris said. “I am proud to have the members of Missouri State Council of Machinists standing with me and supporting my candidacy for Attorney General.”

This is another significant endorsement for Harris. I am really impressed with his endorsements so far. I thought the AFSCME endorsement was a huge pickup for the guy, now with this one it seems like the momentum is going in his favor. I heard that he is the only candidate to have statewide labor endorsements, as well as endorsements in both KC and here in StL. That’s a pretty big deal, especially in a state like Missouri.

Anothing positive performance by the Harris campaign. First, a great sub-prime mortgage bill and now a new endorsement. This guy is going into session with his hair on fire.

This is a great endorsement for Harris! I think this once again proves that he is the best Democrat for Attorney General. He has been committed to labor since day one, and it is good to see Missourians realize this.
