No Fix on Sunday, while new blog features installed

Here’s the good and bad news for all Political Fix readers.

On Sunday, noone — not even I — will be able to post anything new on Political Fix or any other Post-Dispatch blogs. That’s because our crack tech experts here will be putting in place new software and new features on the blog site.

Among the new, WELCOME features:

–Political Fix will FINALLY list a blog roll of other Missouri blogs, both media and independent, with links. (We haven’t been able to previously, because of technical issues that I won’t go into, since they soon will no longer matter.)
For years, many bloggers have nicely displayed links to us. Now we can finally reciprocate. You’ll be able to link from us to John Combest, instead of always vice versa.
(Don’t be upset if your blog isn’t listed initially. I’m adding as I get approval, and as we determine that the content meets our standards. But please email me a note if you want your blog to be considered.)

– You’ll be able to search for past blog posts ONLY on Political Fix. No more wading through all that sports-blog stuff that political junkies don’t care about!! (Just joking, but this search change will help a LOT!)

– We’ll have all of our posts listed by categories, as well as chronologically. You’ll be able to check out, with just a click or two, all our past posts on the governor’s race, or on antics at City Hall or in the Legislature.

– Pictures and VIDEOS will be able to be displayed. Any new shoves involving Kit Wagar will be prominently featured. No more linking to Jason Rosenbaum’s artistically done pieces, simply because we have none of our own. (Just teasing.)

Jo, is there any chance that means Matt F. will actually post more than once a week on Presidential Buzz?

How about an rss feed for just the political fix? As much as I like to “Talk Tech” and keep my “Eye on the Illini”, I’d much prefer to just subscribe to you, sweet Jo.

From what I understand, the new features will indeed allow you to RSS only Political Fix, or only other certain blogs.

ok, let’s talk some politics; if Edwards doesnt win south Carolina and drops out, whom will his votes mostly go to, B or H? I’m thinking H, but hard to call, especially when you’re not that smart about such.

I’d say H. Hey Bill, if you’re ever up Ferguson way we’ve got a nice little coffee house.

no quite in my district, I believe, but would enjoy meeting you in person; give your coffee house a plug! name and location; and I owe you! one, I believe.

Corner Coffee House, on Florissant Road just south of Airport Road/Chambers.

Jo, Can we PLEEEEEZ get an easier way to read the anti-spam code? On more than one occasion, I place the correct code in the nice little box and it STILL does not let me post!

Is it possible to have the “Techies” work on this?

The code only is required for Repubs. Demos get access without it…

I would think Edwards votes go to Barack. It seems to me like Hillary supporters vote for her and Edwards is taking some of the anti-Hillary democratic/independent votes from Obama.
I would second CR’s complaint about the security code.
