Video available on Blunt State of State address, Nixon response

Gov. Matt Blunt and his Democratic nemesis, Attorney General Jay Nixon, made their public appeals tonight about the state of the state.

Blunt says times are good. Nixon says they’re not.

For those who missed one or both addresses, here’s your chance to catch up.

Go to YouTube to see Blunt’s speech, at http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=GovernorMattBlunt. (For some unexplained technical reason, can’t post it directly.)

For Nixon, go to http://www.missouridems.org/

Governor Blunt is creating new bureaucracies to fight problems that we already have laws for. Isn’t this inconsistent with Republican ideology.

I read the blog post you linked to here, and all I can say is, wrong. Well, sort of. You’re technically right when you say that illegals getting drivers licenses isn’t the problem, because in fact, the real problem is that they are here in the first place. But the liberal attitude that, since they are here, they should enjoy the full rights and privileges of citizens, makes a bad problem worse.

As far as proving your identity when you get your driver’s license, that’s nothing new. My recollection is that it was implemented by a federal Homeland Security directive, since drivers licenses are used as identification in boarding aircraft. Do liberals also thing illegals ought to be able to fly on airplanes? How about illegal Muslims from the Middle East? Oops, I’m profiling, sorry.

Liberals don’t say; “…since they are here, they should enjoy the full rights and privileges…” you disinformation distributing numbskull! The (stupid) idea is that illegals will get auto insurance when they get their licenses. Yeah, and I’ve got a bridge to sell in Brooklyn, too!

The new immigration laws before Congress to phase in a route to citizenship were proposed by President Bush, a noted liberal.

Something has to be done, what do you say, Yapper?
