With Rudy out, Bond back on the fence

Here’s the official statement of U.S. Sen. Kit Bond, R-Mo., who been Missouri’s most prominent backer of former Mayor Rudy Giuliani for president:

”Rudy challenged conventional wisdom – and conventional wisdom won.  I still think Rudy is the best candidate to deal with the important challenges of our time, but I respect the primary process and the voters’ choice.

“When it comes to backing another nominee – I will look at the candidates and determine who will best serve Missouri and the nation’s interests.”

No special comment. It’s just nice to see a thread about the Republican side of the races.

How can Kit Bond not look like a big loser right now? He threw his weight behind a candidate that never won more than 15% in any primary. In my opinion Guiliani finished 4th overall, behind McCain, Romney, and Huckabee. Can someone please throw the senior senator from Missouri a towel to wipe the egg off his face…LOL

So, Bond throws his support behind a candidate that withdraws prior to the Missouri Presidential Primary, and you refer to Kit as a big loser?

Rudy campaigned in only one state — Florida. How many Floridians do you think care what a senator from Missouri had to say?

Personally, I think Rudy is the one that came out of this looking like a loser.

Bond is on his way out…..Sad what the raveges of abuse can do to the human body.
Maybe he can start a second career. Get the leading role in a Boris Karloff trilogy with scenes of bloody torture…..Hang the left side of his bottom lip lower than Cheney……Dick Cheney, not Lon Chaney.
