Akin, Jackson headline Lembke’s Senate kickoff
State Rep. Jim Lembke, R-South County, is kicking off his bid for the 1st District state Senate seat this Saturday.
U.S. Rep. Todd Akin, R-Town and Country, and former state Rep. Jack Jackson, R-Wildwood, will participate in the event, which begins at 11 a.m. at the Two Hearts Banquet Center, 4532 So. Lindbergh Blvd., in Sunset Hills.
Jackson will serve as the master of ceremonies. Akin will be the guest speaker.
No other Republican has filed for the post, and only one Democrat: former state Rep. Joan Barry.

Lembke? Where do I know that name? Was that the guy who insinuated himself into a child custody case of a fellow Republican’s family? The same guy who abused his position and threatened to have the judge in the case impeached because that judge didn’t rule in favor of that fellow Republican’s family (depsite the fact that the child advocate’s report was the key factor in the decision)? Why would we want to “promote” this guy?
