And so it begins
Ahhhh, Super Tuesday. With East Coast polls readying to close — and one contest already decided — Political Fix will bring you regular updates as the night goes on. Here are a few quick hits, in case you’ve missed it.
- Missouri turnout appears strong with St. Louis city officials predicting records despite the gloomy weather. One source predicted as high as 40 percent turnout in the presidential preference primary (say that three times fast). Compare that with 27 percent in 2004.
- Gov. Mike Huckabee pulled out a win in the West Virginia state GOP convention which was also attended by Gov. Mitt Romney and long-shot Ron Paul. Word is that McCain supporters switched to back Huckabee to prevent Romney from sweeping.
