Another name — Luetkemeyer — tossed into the 9th District mix
Missouri Director of Tourism Blaine Luetkemeyer, a former Republican legislator from St. Elizabeth, Mo., has announced that he’s joining the crowd of candidates competing for the congressional seat soon to be vacated by fellow Republican Kenny Hulshof.
Here’s Luetkemeyer’s statement, issued Monday night at the Randolph County Lincoln Days celebration in Moberly, Mo.:
“Over the past few weeks I have been overwhelmed by the gracious signs of support from Missourians throughout the Ninth Congressional district. They believe, as do I, that the future of our great state lies beyond the murk of politics and divisive partisanship.
“We believe that the future of America shines brightly with the promise of safe borders, fiscal security, strong national defense and less government waste.
“So tonight, with the support of my family and friends, and with the backing of strong conservatives throughout this state, I announce my candidacy for the United States House of Representatives.
“I look forward to the coming months of talking to voters across the ninth district about my hopes of moving beyond politics and focusing on what matters most to the people of Missouri, a stronger America for generations to come.”
Luetkemeyer served from 1999 to 2005 in the Missouri General Assembly.

He is a hardworking person who will make a great Congressman.
