Todd Patterson, chief of staff to U.S. Rep. Russ Carnahan, D-St. Louis, apparently engaged in a bit too much celebrating Tuesday night.

Carnahan spokesman Glenn Campbell confirmed tonight that Patterson received a police citation for “publicly relieving himself” as he walked home from a post-election watch party in Washington.

Patterson was given a $25 ticket,  accompanied police to the station and paid it, Campbell said. “He’s very embarrassed by it,” Campbell added.

Politico, the Web political publication, is expected to publish something later tonight about Patterson’s unfortunate run-in with the law.

Here’s the link to the site’s gossip item.

Why is this even worthy of publishing? Can we get a list of citations from the recent Mardi Gras celebration in Soulard? Maybe that will show some yet unnoticed party operative being naughty.

Come on Post Dispatch, we deserve better coverage.

Imagine that, another Democrat breaking the law. I bet this wasn’t even reported in the newspaper.

I’ve always heard that democrats know how to have more fun.

If you got to go, and then there’s no place to go, exactly what are you supposed to do.
If behind tree, no offense; if intentionally in front of tree, offense. It can be age related, coffee related, or after swimming an hour related :). Give me a break! Goodness gracious, let’s use some judgment here!

First, public urination is not a great thing. And men’s anatomy make such stuff “easier” to do than a woman.
However, the way our sex offenders laws work now, he might end up having to list himself on a sex offenders registry. That would be the end of his career for what politician wants a “sex offender” on his staff?
It just goes to show that the little decisions you make (like not waiting for an open restroom) can affect the rest of your life.

He should have just went in a trashcan at city hall.

Hey Jo, how long will you leave this post up?

Public Urination by a guy that works for a congressman? Political Fix worthy.

State Rep running over a man and leaving him for dead? Not Political Fix worthy.

Jo, you should take this down. It’s not newsworthy, and it’s hurtful. Your posting of it seems vindictive.
