Former vet leaders endorse Jackson for lieutenant governor
Former state Rep. Jack Jackson’s self-described “mission to become Missouri’s next Lieutenant Governor” has gotten the support of two former national leaders of the American Legion and the VFW.
The endorsements were announced Thursday, on the eve of the state GOP’s annual Lincoln Days, held this year in Springfield, Mo.
They are:. Jim Mueller, who led the VFW as National Commander in Chief in 2005 and 2006, and Joe Frank, the former National Commander of the American Legion and current Chairman of the Missouri Veterans Commission.
Jackson, a Republican from Wildwood, is a retired Marine colonel, with tenures in Vietnam and Desert Storm, and was a longtime test pilot for Boeing.
In the state House, he headed the Legislature’s Veterans Committee. His listed accomplishments include “passage of the “Guard at home” bill and the Missouri Military Family Relief Fund.
Jackson said in a statement about the endorsements, “I’m really honored by the confidence these two heroes have shown in me. I am more committed than ever to make veterans and senior citizens issues two of the major cornerstones of my term as Lieutenant Governor….”

This is great news going into Lincoln Days for Jackson. Hopefully he can continue the momentum over the weekend and gain more endorsements from legislators and leaders from around the state.
Go Jack Go!
