Gibbons, a former Kirkwood councilman, reacts to shooting

St. Louis Post-Dispatch

Here is the statement on last night’s shooting from State Sen. Mike Gibbons, whose district includes Kirkwood. Gibbons got his start in politics after being elected to the Kirkwood city council in 1986.

We have suffered a tragedy of unimaginable proportions. Council members Connie Karr and Mike Lynch, City Public Works Director Ken Yost, and Police officers Sergeant Bill Biggs and Officer Tom Ballman were lost working for us, and our hearts and prayers are with their families and friends.

They were vital members of our community, and they will be missed.

Our hopes and prayers for a speedy recovery are with Mayor Mike Swoboda and Suburban Journals’ reporter Todd Smith.

Now is a time to weep; a time to mourn. Then will be the time to heal. And heal we will. We will never be the same, but we will come together, support each other, and rise above this.

Now is a time to weep; a time to mourn; a time to heal.
Tomorrow will take gun lobby money and legalize cop killer bullets.

Garrison - Apparently can’t find it in yourself to make an expression of sympathy and refrain from taking jabs. You should be deeply ashamed of yourself.

What a couple of jerks!

Apparently, one doesn’t seem to give a crap regardless of what Gibbons says, even if it is completely appropriate for him to make the statements, and the other …. well, the other is Garrison.

At WHAT point, Garrison, do you feel like anyone who represents the gun lobby condones this behavior?

You continue to show yourself for the bitter little loser of a troll that you are. Both of you do, when you act as though the highest ranking public official from Kirkwood has no business commenting on this tragedy!

Garrison and gaydem

Go crawl back under your rocks. If we want opinions from lower species on the intelligence ladder, then you can slither out and show yourselves.

Otherwise, have your comments match your minds…that way they will both be closed shut.

First: My most sincere sympathy to all parties.

Second: Congratulations Mikey;
I quote you :I just want to make My little corner of the world a better place to live in:
Great job. You of all people should know the history of Meacham Park and how it came to be.
I know you are very loyal to your constituants and serve them well. Isn’t The ‘Park part of your constituancy now?.

Why don’t you “gun freaks” do something about the senseless carnage instead of expressing your heartfelt pathetic sorrow every time this happens. You want to list the number of times it’s happened?.. Jim (R) blasted crocidile tears with the mass killings at VT. How many times have we heard the NRA claim we want criminals off the street and turn around and promote cop killer bullets….I’m sure Renee fell “hook ,line and sinker” for the pink pearled hand gun promotion that matches her purse….You got shoes to match cowgirl?

There’s enough guns in this country for every man, woman and child to own half a dozen . Six(6) guns per citizen…..And you drones wonder why this violence has to happens…

The rest of the world laughs at us….Look at the statistics for God’s sake. Japan had 11 gun deaths last year. Britain had less tha 40…. America, over 1,000,000 since 1968. That’s the year 2 national heroes were assasinated and Democrats passed gun control…At the objection of Republicans like JIm (R)… I suppose it could be 2 million and Jim (R) would still express the same tears…What can we do, huh Jim? Let’s all mourn. Phoney BS!

It’s going to happen again. Can’t wait to hear how sorry the NRA right-wing Republican gun-nuts feel while expressing their disbelief.

Bluesfan….stick with sports blogs. Maybe there’s a riffle range somewhere to help get you off and make you feel like a real man.

Garrison - E-mail me: clipper6@gmail.com I would like to meet you. There’s a few things I would like to say to you, but I would rather say them in person (don’t be scared, I won’t hurt you) as opposed to us hiding behind our computers.

P.S. Anyone else interested may e-mail me as well

Garrison

I would tell you to try sports, but I think you know even less about that…given what you have written, it is hard to imagine you even less about anything else.

Just to show how narrow minded your are (and growing to a narrow minded state is a HUGE accomplsihment for you)…I don’t own a gun nor care to and I am NOT a member of the NRA…but I won’t stand in the way of those who wish to own them in a legal fashion. It is called the Second Amendment…try looking it up.

Let me help you…2 comes after 1.

Using your logic, we should outlaw cars because more poeple die from automobile accidents than shootings.

All you do is use the talking points supplied to you from “hate America” groups like MoveOn.FRAUD. Talk about your mind numbed troll.

Bottom line, your thread was sleezy and disgusting in the wake of a horrible situation. You should be ashamed. Unfortunately, you take the typical liberal approach, blame others.

Continue to enjoy swimming at the shallow end of the gene pool.

St. Louis is full of sick people. First you use the opportunity to blast a good man “Mike Gibbons”, then you use it to promote your ill-informed anti-freedom platform. You have no clue about either. I think Mike Gibbons is a great leader and his words were meant to help heal, not tear apart like the GAY DEM. By the way, you probably wonder why everyone singles you out and descriminates for you being gay instead of a jerk. The rest of you anti-freedom people, I can’t help but wonder what would have been the outcome if all of these victims and other law abiding citizens would have been armed? Maybe you should ban guns, I’m sure that “Cookie” would not have purchased or stole a gun if they were banned. I mean he obviously abides by ALL laws. Numb nuts.
