Steelman fishing for votes? No — trout

St. Louis Post-Dispatch

Republican hopeful for governor Sarah Steelman will be up early tomorrow, kicking off he trout season in Salem, Mo.

The fishing begins at 6:30 a.m. at Montauk State Park, but before anglers put their lines in the water, there will be a moment of silence in honor of Dorman L. Steelman - former state rep., judge and Sarah’s father-in-law.

Dorman, who died exactly a year ago Saturday, was an avid outdoorsman, and has a lodge named after him at Montauk.

From what I’ve heard, Sarah should be fishing for votes, but might do better getting trout.

The difference in the crowds at various events around the states, after listening to Steelman and Hulshof speak, should convince Sarah that it’s time to run for re-election as state Treasurer, where she’s done an admirable job.
