Five months before Election Day, Rodney Hubbard is hoping to make an early splash on the small screen.
Hubbard’s campaign sent an e-mail to supporters on Monday, seeking enough contributions to buy time during tonight’s primary election coverage on CNN and MSNBC.
It’s an interesting play - I’m not sure I’ve heard of a State Senate candidate buying television airtime, let alone before the filing for the office even closes.
Maybe Hubbard’s aim isn’t so much to reach voters, but to make an impression on local Democrats up late watching the results come in.
And if he doesn’t raise enough money, there’s always YouTube.
