A spokesman for U.S. Rep. Kenny Hulshof, R-Columbia and a candidate for governor, had some fun today with his reaction to tonight’s fundraiser for Hulshof’s GOP rival, state Treasurer Sarah Steelman.

The St. Louis event features commentator/author Dick Morris, who used to be a consultant for former President Bill Clinton.

Hulshof spokesman Scott Baker observed: “I find it baffling that a Republican primary candidate would bring in a former Clinton adviser for their first fundraising event.”

Baker then offered up this gem: “Let’s just hope that Clinton-style politics don’t gain a toe-hold here in Missouri.”

(Check Morris’ name on Google or Wikipedia for details.)

I find it baffling that a lawyer who has three death penalty cases reversed for attorney misconduct and tosses a handslap to Tom DeLay can be called “ethical.”

So that’s considered a gem of Baker’s? He must have a sparkling personality.

Hulshof is one to talk. His media is being done by the same group that worked with Jack Abrahoff and his pollster is a well known out of the closet lesbian.
